Due to the new ToS, and taking a cue from the [livejournal.com profile] supernaturalfic mod, this community will be deleted as of April 24th. I am porting everything over to Dreamwidth, and will post a note in the comments as soon as that is done. If you are an author or artist who has something posted here and you do not want it posted at DW to preserve it for all posterity in a place safe from authoritarian bullhockey, please let me know.

I really hate that this happened. Just sayin'.

Porting in still in progress, but here we are in the Safe Place:

You can thank [livejournal.com profile] pkabyssinian and the recent episode of Show entitled "Baby" but I am thinking with such inspiration we can revive this amazing community. There were some really great things we did here!!

Here's the rules: This time, you guys post the prompts using the general prompt "Sam and the Impala", and then we'll collect them, and put up a claiming prompt post, just like old times.

Prompts should have something that pertains to the years Sam was at Stanford - they can be words, or an image, or lyrics from a song, or a poem, or whatever your imagination dreams up. They can be flashback, time travel, current time, or otherwise incorporated into later canon, so easy!!

Any member may post prompts in comments, which are screened, below. We'll leave this up for a week, then post the prompts for you to claim.

Andddd... Go!! I am excite!!

PS. Did you guys know you can find the music from each episode at Tunefind? Sure you did. I'm late to this party, been asleep at the wheel since 5th season. I had good reason. Sorry, it won't happen again :)

Title:  Witchy Woman
Author:  [info]sylvanwitch
Rating:  NC-17 (sex of several varieties, swearing)
Pairings:  Dean/OFC, Dean/OMC, Dean/OFC/OMC
Summary:  From the prompt:  Ostara arrives with a bang the first year Sam's away at Stanford. Dad's in Little Rock, Dean's in Montana Colorado, and there's a strange commune up in the hills that the locals are all muttering about. When rabbits start to run wild and everyone's fancies turn to thoughts of a very free love, Dean decides to check them out. He pictures patchouli-wearing hippies. What he gets is something else entirely.
Author's Notes:  The lovely and talented [info]chemm80  beta'd this baby for me.  All remaining mistakes are entirely my own.  She rocks!  The title is borrowed with great respect from The Eagles.
Disclaimer:  They aren't mine, but if they were, they'd probably spend a lot of time in Colorado.

This way to the fic.

Peace,
SW

Title:  Man to the Mountain
Author:  [info]sylvanwitch
Rating:  PG-13 (for language, violence)
Category:  Casefic, pre-series (Stanford era)
Summary:  From the original prompt:  Spring in the Great Smoky Mountains comes as a surprise, everything turning green seemingly overnight. Only in the deep valleys where the sun never quite shines is there still snow. And in the snow, the prints of something not-quite-human. The Cherokee call it a cannibal. Cannibal or no, John Winchester is there to kill it. Of course, that'd be easier if he had either of his boys. But Sam's no longer a part of the family, and Dean's off doing god knows what. That leaves John, a family of Cherokee men, an ancient legend, and a fistful of guts and glory to get it done. (I took some liberties with my prompt.)
Author's Notes:  These are long, so I'll ask you to see the master post.
Disclaimer:  The ones you recognize aren't mine.  The ones you don't are.  No Cherokees were harmed in the writing of the this story.  Any resemblance to actual persons living or dead is purely coincidental.

Go here for the fic.

Peace,
SW

Howdy! I'm one of the new mods... [livejournal.com profile] sylvanwitch, our other new mod, and I have decided that it is high time for another challenge around here!

Since Spring is finally on the way in the Northern Hemisphere, and it was a particularly brutal Winter for many of us in North America this year, we're thinking that prompts on the theme of the changing seasons would be appropriate. Winter thaw, Winter turning into Spring, Spring Break and Spring Semester - or Winter quarter and Spring quarter, as that's what they have at Stanford - (with or without its typical student rituals), Spring being a new start on life, the end of Winter being the end of a cold, dark time, the holidays/observances that take place this time of year (Lent, Mardi Gras, Easter, Pentecost, Purim, Passover, Shavuot, Ostara, Lupercalia, Imbolc, the Vernal Equinox), this is the frame of mind we're in...

There's a lot that can be done with this theme. Prompts can involve any or all of the Winchesters, set any time during the years that Sam was attending Stanford. Think of some of the things that they might have been doing/feeling at this time of year during that time period... whatever inspires you, whatever you want to know about this part of their lives. A picture, a word, a pairing, a feeling, song lyrics, poems, specific situations - anything!

Post your prompts in the comments. Comments will be screened until we post them for claiming.

Prompts may be posted here until March 27th. At that time, comments will be disabled and prompts will be opened for claiming. You will have until April 30th to post your stories, art or vids.

Have fun! :D

Title: No More Let Sorrows Grow
Author: SylvanWitch
Rating: PG-13 (language)
Category: Gen, pre-series, angst, holiday-related, wee!chesters
Summary: Christmas Eve, blizzard, Kansas. And still, this isn't the worst holiday Dean's ever had.
Author's Notes: The title is taken from the rarely-sung (and darkest) verse of "Joy to the World." Great thanks to the lovely, talented, patient, and speedy [livejournal.com profile] chemm80 , who beta'd for me. All mistakes are mine and mine alone.
Disclaimer: If they were mine, they might sometimes have this kind of joy.

Go here for Part II.

We have a good number of people who claimed prompts this month in our latest challenge, but the deadline for posting is only a little over a week away. A couple people asked and IMHO there's no reason not to extend the deadline to December 30th, since it doesn't look like anyone's posted their story yet. If anyone has a problem with that, PM me.

Otherwise, please try to get your stories posted by December 30th. Remember, there is a contest going on and everyone who posts will get something extra nice!

Looking forward to reading! Thanks to everyone who has responded so far. If you missed this challenge and really, really want to take a prompt, there are a few left and it would be great to see them done, so feel free. Just comment to the original post and I'll take care of it.

Happy writing, vidding, and being creative! Remember to follow the guidelines for posting when you post your work.

Okay, we have almost double the number of prompts we normally get and a lot of new members so I'm seriously excited about the challenge this month.

You guise know what happens when I get excited, right?! So - I'm offering something to sweeten the pot and hopefully gather some MAJOR input to finish off this last Challenge of 2009!

That's right, this time there will be PREZZIES )
So - everyone PIMP OUT THIS CHALLENGE AND LET'S HAVE A BANG-UP END TO 2009, shall we?

Questions? Please drop them in the comments so everyone can see the answer, because chances are, someone else has the same question.

So, chickas. It's time to close the prompt challenge and post our Holiday Prompts for claiming! The topic for this Challenge is:

It was rare, but occasionally, a Winchester/the Winchesters had something real to celebrate at this time of year. This was one of those times.

We asked: Were there any holidays that were memorable for the little pinpricks of light that shone through the darkness? Could it be something Sam remembers, or Dean hasn't forgotten, or perhaps that John held onto that maybe the boys wouldn't have known about? Did they do something together, was it something only they would have understood? Was it something that to anyone else would have been totally messed up, but for the Winchesters, was kind of wonderful? Could it have been something that Sam experienced alone for the first time away from his family, that Dean felt good about, that John put down to pure luck and chance, that probably would never happen again?

Good times, bad times, you know I've had my share )

Title: Closed for the Season
Author: SylvanWitch
Rating: PG
Category: Pre-series, angst
Summary: Why is he sitting here? What was it about this place that had him wasting time--his, Dad's, some hapless victim-du-jour’s? Then he remembers.
Author's Notes:  I adore this community and am doing my best to pimp us everywhere I go.  Thanks so much for giving me great reasons to write!
Disclaimer:  They aren't mine, but if they were, they could eat ice cream every day for breakfast.

This way to the story at my fic journal.

Peace,
